Well Hello There!
Hello everyone! I'm Meg and I'm so glad you've come to visit. The Lady of Shallots is a labour of love which began as an accident two years ago. I decided I wanted to make beeswax wraps for myself and then started making them for friends and it grew from there. It has been a wonderful project to help people reduce plastic waste.
We don't get too far without a bad pun in our family, hence the name. My secret dream job is to have a small CSA or farm stand which is where the idea for the name came from initially. I'm sure I'll make something with shallots, garlic, and other things grown in the garden at some point!
This whole gig is a one-woman show from cutting the fabric, making the wraps, packaging, web-design, social media, etc... Thanks for understanding if there are some bumps as I launch this webpage! My wraps are made by me in small batches with locally sourced wax and Canadian resin. Some fabrics are upcycled.
I am also a teacher, a mom to a wonderful boy, and would prefer to be outside all the time.
